What Is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of electronic information and communication technology to deliver medical information and services over large and small distances through a standard telephone line.

 

In most cases, an interactive monitor is placed in a patient’s home, often accompanied by measuring devices such as a blood pressure unit, scale, and pulse oximeter.  This allows the patient’s current health status, symptoms, and activities to be monitored around the clock on a daily basis.
